The RIA 5.0 is a semi-automatic handgun with nylon grips that is chambered in 9mm Parabellum (9×19). It has a two-piece chassis. Aluminum is used for the slide rails and the upper part where the trigger assembly is installed.

This is a tried-and-true technical approach for keeping the weight of the gun within normal limits while maintaining strength and durability. The trigger is single-action, with a release weight of 1,800 grams (4 lb); the trigger has a center blade safety that, if not fully depressed and purposely, stops the rifle from firing. The barrel is an outstanding 125 mm (4.9 inch) long, a relatively high figure that allows you to fully utilize the cartridge’s propellant charge.

The only manual controls on the frame are the left-side slide stop lever and the reversible magazine release button. A set of sights consisting of an adjustable LPA notch and a Dawson front sight with fiber optic insert is mounted on the slide, which has been coated with a black Ceratkote ceramic coating. Both sights are fitted into dovetail slots, allowing them to be shifted laterally. The Picatinny rail for accessory installation is found on the dust cover.
